I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me.

~Philippians 4:13

Because you are sons, God sent the Spirit of His Son into our hearts, the Spirit who calls out, "Abba, Father." So you are no longer a slave, but a son; and since you are a son, God has made you also an heir.

~Galatians 4:6-7

Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

~Hebrews 12:2

Greatest Hunting Achievement:
The first time I ever went turkey hunting was when I took my son on a youth hunt. He shot a 20 pound turkey with a 10 inch beard. Sharing this experience with him and seeing his success was every bit as rewarding as getting a harvest of my own.
Testimony:

I was the oldest of three children and my dad, of course, was a preacher. I was a typical preacher's kid, until the suicide death of my baby brother. I had spent the night before with him, and the next morning the state police and my grandfather knocked on my door to break the news. I then had to go and tell my parents. It made me wonder how a person could be that desperate. It also made me wonder how a person could be in that much need and not recognize in me anything that could make a difference.
I examined my life and figured out what the missing piece was - God. Since then, I have had a heart for souls. I was a teacher for 8 years, a school principal for 3, and this year have started as a school superintendent. I try to impact the lives of children everyday.
I realized when attending hunting shows that there seemed to be an untapped area of ministry. The four guys that I am hooked up with share a passion for the outdoors, but also share a passion for souls. We decided to video tape our hunts, create a DVD and set up a booth at hunting shows to share Christ. During this process, we have found another need that was sparked. Many men's groups and churches have asked us to come to their church and speak. It is not coincidence that three of the five of us are called to preach. We are in the beginnings of booking these engagements and creating an audio/visual presentation, with the hopes of reaching men who might otherwise never step foot in church. It has been researched that if men are reached for God, the percentage of their family accepting is astronomical. Our video is set up as a topic. The first DVD was centered around "seasons". We will use this as a parallel to life when we begin speaking at our upcoming outings.
Jeremiah 29:11 tells us that God has a plan for all of us, including the guys we come in contact with at these hunting shows. We want to show them that this plan brings hope and peace. My brother's story is tragic, but through God it has sparked a desire in many to see others escape the same ending. This ministry/business is about changing lives through something many love - hunting.
